50+ YEAR SALE HISTORY


Ascot bulls were first sold at Gracemere in 1969.


In 1972 we started selling in conjunction with the

Cootharaba Hereford Stud at Moura saleyards.


Then in 1974 Ascot had its own sale on the Galloway property

at Monto. We then moved it to the Theodore saleyards

with the Rushmore stud owned by the Smoothy family

from 1975 to 1979.


Back to Moura as a single-vendor in 1980

and this continued until 1985.


The first on-property auction at ‘Ascot’, Banana was in 1986.


In the 32 years that followed it became the

largest single-vendor sale for Brafords in Australia

and continued until 2018.


The Galloways have now returned to CQLX at Gracemere for the National Braford Sale each September.


PADDOCK-READY BULLS


You don’t need to wait for the Spring sales,

we have paddock-ready bulls available all year round.


We often email clients images and videos to save you time and travel – that way you can get a sire you need, at the right time.

Our paddock-ready bulls range in age from 26 to 34 months

and are in good working order.


Bulls offered for sale have had positive crushside semen tests and health evaluations.


We can deliver locally in Central Queensland,

and if going to clean country can deliver them to the nearest clearing dip, or organise a backload if necessary.
